The Local 68 Training Center in West Caldwell, N.J., is a world-class training facility for Local 68 members. Classrooms are equipped with state-of-the art technology, brand-new computers, hands-on training capabilities and wireless communications. The excitement and energy surrounding our Training Center continues: From 2003 to 2005, student enrollment doubled, from 255 students to 703 students. Enrollment continues to climb. More than 2,010 students attended the West Caldwell and Atlantic City Training Centers in 2007.
Local 68 members pay one low annual fee, which allows members to take an unlimited number of classes throughout the year. Non-members can also take classes at the Local 68 Training Center for a fee. The curriculum has been redesigned and expanded to include a specific apprentice track with the required license preparation courses, a Chief Engineers Module, and other customized on-site trainings.
Courses are offered during the morning and evening to work with your schedule. Class segments are shorter, some lasting just eight hours. Also, classes are offered throughout the year: You can start taking classes at any time.
In January 2006, Local 68 opened the doors to its southern campus, the Local 68 Atlantic City Training Center, located at 850 Franklin Avenue, Pleasantville, N.J. The Atlantic City facility has three classrooms, including a computer lab.
More and more, the jobs available with Local 68 are requiring licenses and more and more advanced skills. When we have the most skilled and talented men and women working on all of our sites, Local 68 remains the best and ONLY option available to our employers.
